Dozens Of Rabbits Found In Santa Ana Home

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Wednesday were investigating a case of animal hoarding after dozens of rabbits were discovered at an Orange County home.

More than 60 rabbits were found at a residence on Broadway in Santa Ana, police said.

The homeowner, Blanca, told CBS2/KCAL9's Michele Gile that she started with one rabbit several years ago and "things got out of control".

Animal services were called into remove the pets from the home for adoption.

"We just need people who are interested in adopting these animals. The shelters are going to be at over maximum capacity with what we're taking in now," Officer Sandra Berg said.

Officials said several of the rabbits were pregnant.

If interested in adoption, Orange County Animal Care can be reached at (714)796-6426.
