Suge Knight Bail Hearing Continued
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Murder suspect Suge Knight remained in custody Monday after appearing in court for a bail hearing.
The hearing, which was related to murder charges stemming from a hit-and-run crash, was continued to March 20. The judge also said Knight will be allowed to have face-to-face visitations and use of computer until then.
Prosecutors said they will have a "very large stack of uncharged crimes" that will be presented at the March hearing.
Knight pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and two counts of hit-and-run last Tuesday after he reportedly ran over Terry Carter and Cle "Bone" Sloan during an argument in Compton on Jan. 29.
Carter, 55, was killed and Sloan, 51, suffered injuries to his chest and foot.
Following his court appearance, the former rap mogul was rushed to a local hospital after experiencing chest pains. He was later released and taken back to the Men's Central Jail.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Carter's death is being investigated as a homicide as it appeared Knight intentionally aimed his vehicle in the direction of the men.
Knight's bail was initially set at $2 million after he turned himself in on Jan. 30; however, it was revoked days later by a bail commissioner who said the 49-year-old was a possible flight risk. Officials also said Knight is a three-strike candidate and could potentially intimidate witnesses.
If convicted, Knight faces life in prison.
