Rare Collection Of Disneyland Memorabilia To Go On Display This Weekend

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com) — A large collection of rare Disneyland memorabilia will be unveiled this weekend before they are put up for auction at the end of the month.

The Story of Disneyland Collection will be put on display to the public starting Saturday through Feb. 27, part of the theme park's 60th anniversary celebration.

The collection includes more than 1,000 pieces of memorabilia that tells the story of how Walt Disney's Disneyland theme park came to life, such as a 1955 pre-opening supplement, a an original "It's a Small World" doll from 1964, and the original Cigar Store Indian that stood at the front of Frontierland in the 1960s, worth an estimated $15,000 to $20,000.

These items will be put up for auction by Van Eaton Galleries, 13613 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, both in person and online on Feb. 28 and March 1.

The collection will be on display at Van Eaton Galleries from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. daily.
