Vehicle Plows Into Cypress Park Structure

CYPRESS PARK (CBSLA.com) — A car crashed into a building Thursday night in Cypress Park.

The accident in the 2600 block of North Roseview Avenue was reported shortly before 9:45 p.m., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"Power lines down, hydrant has been broken and a car into a building," reported Sky 9's Stu Mundel, who was overhead.

Mundel said firefighters were on the scene.

"For a while there, they were unable to approach the water to try to shut it off because of those power lines," Mundel reported. "DWP showed up out here and did make sure the power is off."

Mundel said the driver of the vehicle was initially treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.

There was a power outage in the area, as well.
