LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit the Southland this week as part of the Obama Administration’s push to help more Americans go to college.

Biden will visit West Los Angeles College in Ladera Heights on Friday, followed by a stop Saturday in Irvine to deliver remarks to the Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit.

Details on the trip were not immediately available.

The visit was announced ahead of President Obama’s State of the Union address scheduled for Tuesday evening.

Biden last visited Southern California last October for a roundtable discussion with Mayor Eric Garcetti and business leaders to discuss raising the minimum wage.
