3 Disoriented Hikers, Dog Airlifted From Angeles National Forest
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said three hikers were rescued Saturday from the Angeles National Forest.
The three were hiking and went off trail before becoming stranded on top of a mountain, near Switzer Falls at Bear Canyon.
Officials said the hikers, two men, a woman and a dog, got disoriented.
One hiker was able to make a cell phone call to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station and ask for help.
Air 5 Rescue was dispatched to the location around 12:45 p.m.
A hoist rescue was conducted and all three victims and their dog were hoisted into the aircraft, uninjured, and released to the Montrose Search and Rescue, officials said.
