Man Listed In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — A 26-year-old man remained hospitalized in critical condition Saturday after being struck by a vehicle last night.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers were sent around 11:16 p.m. Friday to a parking lot located in the 600 block of South A Street for report of a subject that was struck by a vehicle.

Once on scene, officers located the Santa Barbara man, who was lying on the ground suffering from a severe head injury.

Paramedics transported him to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed a black BMW four door vehicle, described as having paper license plates, entered the parking lot.

Police explained a passenger traveling in the vehicle allegedly exited and confronted the victim and his associates, who were standing in the parking lot, and then returned to the vehicle.

Several minutes later, the vehicle returned, and struck the man.

Detectives explained they are working to obtain information about the incident, and to provide a description of the suspects accused in the crime.
