Vigil Pleads For Help In South L.A. Hit-And-Run Death Of Mother Of 2

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday evening for a South Los Angeles mother killed in a hit-and-run accident over the weekend.

Loved ones of Treva Arnold, 39, gathered in front of her home asking for the public's help and praying for justice.

"We are all broken right now, so if you have any information about who hit her that night, that you will come forward," said Brenda Rowry, the victim's aunt. "We're not only asking. We're pleading."

Arnold was struck about 2:30 a.m. Sunday while crossing Slauson and Denker avenues as she returned home from a friend's house, according to her mother.

Police said the vehicle was possibly a Volkswagen that was tan or silver in color.

Arnold is survived by her parents and two children.

Anyone with more information about this case was asked to call the LAPD's South Traffic Division.
