Arcadia Police Bust 2 Suspects Following Chase, Alleged Shoplifting At Santa Anita Sport Chalet

ARCADIA (CBSLA.com)  —  Arcadia Police arrested two men they say led them on a brief chase after they were allegedly observed shoplifting at a Sport Chalet store in the Westfield Santa Anita Mall.

Guards reportedly observed the men loading backpacks with sports clothing. Guards told police they were able to recover some of the stolen items before the suspects fled.

The suspects are identified as 20-year-old Dominque Javon Jones and 18-year-old Royce Lee Emerson Camp, both of Pasadena.

Police said the suspects punched a guard in the face and threatened him with pepper spray during an altercation in the store's parking lot.

The suspects left the scene in a black Honda Civic.

Arcadia Police were dispatched to the location just after 12:35 p.m. They saw the suspect vehicle near Baldwin Avenue on Colorado Boulevard. They said the suspects refused to pull over and the chase ensued. The suspects voluntarily stopped in the area of Corta Calle and Buff Avenue in Pasadena, officials said.

Jones, the driver, was charged with robbery, evading a peace officer, driving without a license and misdemeanor vandalism. He is being held on $105,000 bail.

Camp was charged with robbery. His bail is set at $50,000.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5151.
