Man Fatally Shot While Sitting In Car In Compton
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Detectives Tuesday were investigating the death of a man who was fatally shot while sitting in his car.
The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m., the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said.
According to officials, "the victim and his male companion were driving in the area of Rose Street and White Avenue, Compton, where they encountered a black sedan."
The two vehicle stopped and a Hispanic man exited the black sedan, walked up to the driver's side window and fired one shot.
"The victim was able to drive the vehicle a short distance before paramedics were called," Dep. Amber Smith said. He was later taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The shooter and the driver of the sedan fled the scene. No suspect description or motive were released.
