Boy, 11, With Rare Disease Delivers 1K Toys To Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An 11-year-old boy Monday delivered more than a thousand toys to Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA.

Casey Abrams, who organized his 5th annual toy drive, delivered the donated toys to to the Chase Child Life program at 10:30 a.m. at the hospital located at 757 Westwood Plaza.

Abrams suffers from a very rare progressive and degenerative disease of his intestines and has spent many holidays and birthdays as a patient at the hospital since birth. When he was six years old, he decided he wanted to give other ailing children a memorable holiday.

The Chase Child Life program distributes the toys during the holiday season and also year-round during patients' birthdays or when they undergo procedures.

The donated toys have been collected from community members, Brownie troop 60715, the Lost Cruizer'zz Car Club, the SoCal Challengers Car Club, the Seven Skulls motorcycle club, Uncle Milton Industries and Wish Sotheby's International Realty.
