Cousins Found Fatally Shot On Moreno Valley Street

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Two families grieved Monday for cousins who were gunned down Sunday night just steps from the family home on Dracaea Avenue, near Perris Boulevard.

Chris Sandoval and his cousin Arthur Sandoval, who was visiting from Alaska, were shot to death at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday. Their family believes the pair got into an argument with whoever killed them, but the motive is unclear.

Chris Sandoval leaves behind a young son and many grieving relatives.

"He was a great father," his girlfriend said tearfully.

Arthur Sandoval, a father of two, was in town visiting family for the holidays. Originally from Riverside County, he had moved to Alaska to raise his family.

Chris Sandoval lived just a block from the crime scene. He had just finished his shift at Walmart a short time before the shooting.

Police, who have not made any arrests, say the shooting remains under investigation.

Anyone with information should call Investigator Dean of the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit at (951) 955-2777, or Detective De La Torre of the Moreno Valley Police Department at (951) 486-6700.
