CBS2’s Laurie Perez said several trees were also down in the area.

Meanwhile, in Long Beach — where another outage affected about 1,100 customers — at 7:55 p.m., SCE said about 235 customers were still without power at 11 p.m.

In Calabasas, high winds knocked down a tree. The downed tree, in turn, caused a high-pressure gas line to leak in the 26000 block of Mullholland Highway.

The tree fell on the line about 8:30 p.m.

Officials with Southern California Gas Co. said the leak was plugged and that workers would be at the site at daylight to monitor the plug and repair the meter.
