Ontario Police Officer Saves Life Of 50-Year-Old Woman By Performing CPR

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — An officer's quick action kept a woman alive Sunday after she was found not breathing inside of her home.

According to the Ontario Police Department, dispatchers received a call about resident who had collapsed around 6:50 p.m. Saturday and was lying on the floor inside her home.

The caller reported the victim was not breathing, and was believed to be dead, officers explained.

Officials were sent to the 900 block of South Magnolia Avenue, where Corp. Will Rivera located the 50-year-old female, who was not breathing.

He quickly started CPR on the victim, until the Ontario Fire Department arrived to assist with medical care.

"As a result of Corp. Rivera's quick action, the patient began breathing again and was transported to a local area hospital," said Sgt. Jeff Higbee.

Officials explained without his response to the needs of the patient, there could have been a good likelihood she might have died.
