LASD: 'Detectives Believe Pico Rivera Fatal Shooting Is Gang Related'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives continued their investigation Sunday into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in Pico Rivera.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent around 5:58 a.m. to the 5400 block of Rosemead Boulevard on Saturday for report of a person down.

Once on scene, they located the victim unresponsive on the sidewalk in front of the location.

Deputies explained the Pico Rivera man was shot in the upper torso and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

According to homicide detectives, the incident is gang related.
