Stanton Man Dies After Huntington Beach Crash

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A Stanton man died late Friday night following a crash earlier in the day in Huntington Beach, authorities said.

The coroner's office identified the man as Kim Xuan Vo, 73.

He died hours after the four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Edwards Street and Mar Vista Drive, at the Huntington Beach-Westminster border. Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi said several other people suffered minor injuries.

Vo had to be cut out of his overturned car, which caught fire after the 10:50 a.m. crash, Concialdi said. The crash also involved an SUV, a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

Emergency workers took Vo to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where the injured driver of the pickup truck was also treated, Concialdi said. Two women in the SUV were taken to a hospital in Huntington Beach while the motorcyclist declined medical attention.

Huntington Beach police officer Jennifer Marlatt told City News Service that Vo's vehicle crashed into pickup and SUV at a red light, and the pickup was then pushed into the motorcycle. Another car was struck by flying debris, but no one in that vehicle was hurt.
