ARLETA (CBSLA.com) — Drivers will need to find an alternate route north of Burbank Airport starting late Monday night as CalTrans plans to close the northbound 5 freeway for carpool lane work that will last into the early hours of Tuesday.

The work will also involve a closure at the north end of the 170 Freeway where it merges into the 5, officials said. The full closure will go into effect just before midnight Monday and last until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
