Celtics PG Rajon Rondo Traded To Mavericks

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - The Los Angeles Lakers have failed to acquire future free-agent Rajon Rondo after Celtics accepted an offer by Dallas Mavericks in a multi-player trade.

Before accepting the offer, according to ESPN, the Celtics denied the Lakers offer which included Steve Nash, who won't play a single game this season, and multiple draft picks for the 28-year old from Louisville, Kentucky.

Instead, the Celtics have agreed to acquire Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jameer Nelson and a future first- and second-round draft pick for their All-Star point guard.

The Mavericks' projected starting lineup will now be Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis, Tyson Chandler and Chandler Parsons.

Rondo, who will be an unrestricted free agent next season, expects to test the market, giving the Lakers another chance to acquire the point guard.
