UC Irvine Beats Sacramento State 74-62
IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -- John Ryan scored 14 points and Alex Young added 13 to lead UC Irvine to a 74-62 victory over Sacramento State on Saturday night.
Travis Souza scored to give UC Irvine a 42-31 lead with 15:13 to play, and the Anteaters led by double digits the rest of the way.
Will Davis II scored on a dunk and layup to stretch UC Irvine's lead to 68-48 with 4:53 left.
Ryan was 7 of 9 from the floor and Young 5 of 11. Ioannis Dimakopoulos added 11 points for UC Irvine (4-3), which is undefeated at home.
Dylan Garrity scored 18 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Sacramento State (4-3). Mikh McKinney added 17 points, and is now 50 shy of 1,000 career points. Eric Stuteville grabbed nine boards to lead the Hornets, who played their third game in six days.
