L.A. Schools, Supervisors Reach Tentative Agreement

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Unified School District and the union representing administrative assistants and other supervisory staff members have reached a tentative agreement.

LAUSD and Teamsters Local 572 announced agreements on job protections, food service practices and payment cycles Wednesday. The two sides had previously reached an agreement on salary.

Teamsters representative Adriana Salazar Avila said although the union did not reach an agreement on every proposal, committee members were confident they can continue working with the district.

The three-year agreement will go into effect once ratified by union members and adopted by the Board of Education.

LAUSD is still in ongoing negotiations with United Teachers Los Angeles.
