WEST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public’s help Tuesday in identifying a man believed to be a burglar captured on surveillance video stealing from two area restaurants.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man smashed the front glass door of a closed restaurant in the 1600 block of Colby Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 12.

He stole money from the cash register and fled, authorities said.

On Oct. 17, officers said the same man pried open the rear door to another closed restaurant in the 1000 block of Montana Avenue in Santa Monica during the early morning hours.

During this crime, the man fled with computer equipment and a safe.
