Griffith Park Sees New Twist On Holiday Light Show

GRIFFITH PARK (CBSLA.com) — Five years after the city shut down the Griffith Park drive-thru light show for construction a new holiday light experience is bringing crowds to the park.

This time the show is a walking experience inside the Los Angeles Zoo pairing lasers and light shows.

"I'm so glad it's back. Honestly, it starts off the holiday perfectly and we need something for Christmas," visitor Patricia Frost said.

Visitors David and Dede Burns used to come see the old display but at Friday's debut they said they much prefer the new experience.

"You're not stuck in the car. Everyone's out. It's a community experience because everyone's out together," Dede said.

The show was created by lighting technicians who've worked on elaborate stage displays for performers such as Kanye West and Daft Punk.

Tickets online are $8 if purchased by Dec. 11. Entrance is $13 at the door. The fee does not include entrance to the zoo.
