Cal State Fullerton Holds On To Beat Wright State In Spartanburg Marriott Upstate Classic

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Lanerryl Johnson scored 27 points and Cal State Fullerton beat Wright State 67-62 on Thursday night.

Josh Gentry added 14 points and Alex Harris 10 while Joe Boyd grabbed 10 rebounds for the Titans (2-3).

JT Yoho scored 20 points and had nine rebounds for the Raiders (3-2). Reggie Arceneaux added 15 points and Steven Davis 10. Chrishawn Hopkins, who led the Raiders coming to the game at 18.3 points per game, scored eight.

Wright State led 33-28 at halftime. The Titans caught up with 15:10 remaining in the game and the game stayed close. Cal State Fullerton took the lead for good on a 7-0 run that left the Titans ahead 65-61 with 21.2 seconds left. The Raiders then missed three straight 3-pointers.

The Titans had a 40-31 rebounding edge and made 24 of 33 free throws.

The game was part of the Spartanburg Marriott Upstate Classic
