Residents Tied Up, 1 Beaten In Manhattan Beach Home Invasion

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday were investigating a home invasion robbery where two residents were tied up and one was beaten.

Four male suspects broke into a home just after midnight in the 100 block of Morningside Drive in Manhattan Beach, authorities said.

The suspects entered the home through a lower level window while the residents were out.

"When the residents returned home, they were confronted by the suspects," Sgt. Paul Ford said.

A man and a woman were tied up and the male victim was beaten, Sgt. Ford added.

"The suspects forced the male victim to open a safe where they removed cash and guns," he said.

The men then ransacked the home and fled.

The victims were able to free themselves and call 911.

The suspects were described as three Hispanic man and one black man, ranging in age from 19 to 35 years old.

Wednesday's home invasion was the second such crime to occur in Manhattan Beach this month. On Nov. 15, an unknown number of suspects tied up a victim in the 800 block of 10th Street and ransacked the home.

Anyone with information about either crime should contact Det. Mike Rosenberger at (310)802-5127.
