LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public’s help Sunday in identifying a suspect accused of killing a 23-year-old man in Harbor City.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent around 9:49 a.m. to the 21000 block of Halldale Avenue.

Once on scene, officers found Joseph Steven Ruiz suffering from stab wounds.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials transported him to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Ruiz and the suspect got into an argument, which escalated into a physical altercation.

The suspect allegedly stabbed Ruiz with a knife during the fight, and fled from the scene.

No description was provided of the suspect.
