Driver Killed, 4 Seriously Injured In Manhattan Beach Street Light Collision

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A Hacienda Heights woman was killed and four others were seriously injured Sunday after their vehicle collided with a street light.

According to the Manhattan Beach Police Department, officers responded around 1:42 a.m. to the 2600 block of Northbound Sepulveda Boulevard for reports of a single injury traffic collision involving a vehicle.

Once on scene, officers located a 21-year-old female victim suffering from major injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four additional passengers were all seriously injured in the crash, and were transported to Harbor General Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Their condition is unknown at this time.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim drove a 1996 Toyota Corolla Northbound on Sepulveda Boulevard, when she collided with a street light along the sidewalk.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
