The victim is now comatose and has paralysis, officials said.

The complaint against Isumu adds an alleggation of committing great bodily injury.

Prosecutors said that Isumu struck the victim — multiple times — with a rock. They also said Isumu hit the unidentified victim with a large steel trash can.

The victim was airlifted to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.

Isumu fled but was later captured by police.

The DA asked for bail to be set at more than $500,000.

In court Wednesday, Isumu pleaded not guilty to the charge.
