'The Doctors' To Give Away $1M Irvine Healthy Home

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Starting Thursday, fans of "The Doctors" have a chance to win a $1 million home in Irvine.

The show's producers teamed up with homebuilder Lennar Corp. to build a four-bedroom, four-bath, 2,479-square-foot home worth more than $1 million in Pavilion Park, which is in the Great Park Neighborhoods.

Construction started in late September and is expected to finish early next year, with its progress documented on "The Doctors."

The show has been running an investigative series called "Is Your House Making You Sick?" and usually the answer has been yes, according to the show's executive producer Jay McGraw.

""Because the show prides itself on educating and providing practical information to live the healthiest and happiest life possible, we wanted to do something extraordinary this season to further the messaging," he said.

The home will feature solar power, an energy-saving tankless water heater, radiant-barrier sheathing, drywall that lessens allergens and contaminants, formaldehyde-free insulation and hard-surface floors.
