ORANGE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A 23-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with two residential burglaries allegedly committed in Irvine.
According to the Irvine Police Department, Bishoy Fahmy of Castaic was arrested in Los Angeles County shortly after leaving a pawn shop.READ MORE: See Who Won During The Golden Globe Awards
Officers said around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, a resident in a neighborhood near Jamboree Road and Portola Parkway heard glass breaking and observed a suspicious vehicle near a neighbor’s home.

The witness reported the vehicle’s license plate number to police, which is how officers led to the arrest of Fahmy.
Stolen items from the burglary, including jewelry, were recovered, police said.

Following his arrest, officers said two loaded firearms were located in his home.
