Galaxy's Landon Donovan Talks Retirement With Kristine Leahy

CARSON, Calif. (CBSLA.com) — MLS soccer commissioner Don Garber said earlier in the week that Landon Donovan deserved to be in Brazil with the USMNT in the World Cup and regretted not speaking out about it in May.

Since then, before playing a special farewell game with the USMNT, Donovan announced that he will retire with the Galaxy after spending 10 years with the club.

His last Galaxy game will come at some point during the playoffs, and Donovan told Kristine Leahy, just before his last home regular season game, whenever the day does come it will be very sad day.

Arguably the countries best soccer player ever, Donovan holds the MLS record with 144 all-time goals and 332 career games started.

Donovan will play his final regular season game at StubHub center on Sunday, Oct 19 in Carson.

Due to the number of fans expected to attend, and limited space on site, fans are encouraged to carpool. Additional parking will be available at SouthBay Pavilion on Del Amo Boulevard in Carson. The lot is located next to Sears and a free shuttle to the StubHub Center will be available from 3 to 9 p.m.
