Funeral Held For 2 Of 5 Teens Killed In Fiery Irvine Crash

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBSLA.com) — Funeral services were held Friday morning for two of the five teenagers killed in a fiery car crash on the 5 Freeway in Irvine.

Alejandro Sotelo and Brandon Moreno were remembered during a 10 a.m. service at Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano.

The teens, along with Jenny Campos, 15, Jennifer Bahena and Matthew Melo, both 14, were returning home from Knott's Berry Farm on Oct. 4 when the BMW they were riding in went airborne, landed on a retaining way and burst into flames.

The sole survivor and unlicensed driver of the vehicle, 16-year-old Bradley Morales, was hospitalized with a head injury.

It remains unclear if Morales will face any charges.

According to the Orange County Coroner, Bahena, Campos and Melo died from multiple blunt force injuries as a result of the crash.

The cause of death for Sotelo and Moreno were still pending.

Campos will be laid to rest Saturday. Funeral plans for Bahena and Melo have yet to be announced.
