Pedestrian In Grave Condition After Being Struck By Car In Riverside

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a pedestrian was listed in grave condition at a hospital after being struck by a car in Riverside.

The accident happened Monday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. in the 7300 block of Indiana Avenue, Riverside police said in a written statement.

According to police, the victim had walked off the curb and into the street when one of two vehicles traveling on Indiana struck the pedestrian.

Police said the driver of the car, described only as a female, was unable to stop to avoid impact.

First responders took the unidentified pedestrian to Riverside Community Hospital.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
