Game 1 of NLDS: Cardinals-Dodgers
Top 1: Clayton Kershaw started off by striking out M. Carpenter on four pitches, but on his second batter, R. Grichuk went deep to left field to give Cardinals the early 1-0 lead. Second curve ball hit by a home run all season.
Bot. 1: Hanley Ramirez failed in to drive Yasiel Puig(single), who was in third with two outs. Kemp(single) left on first.
Top 2: Three Up, Three Down for Kershaw
Bot. 2: Wainwright struck out Dee Gordon on a full count to leave two runners in scoring position stranded. Uribe(single) on third and Ellis(single) on second. Have stranded four total runners in the first two innings.
Top 3: Three Up, Three Down...again.
Bot. 3: Wainwright nails Puig in the back with no outs. Benches cleared. Both teams warned. Ramirez drives in Puig to tie game at 1-1. Crawford drives in Ramirez, who stole second, to go up 2-1 on a ground-rule double.
Top 4: Three Up, Three Down
Bot. 4: Puig drives in Ellis, who is 2 for 2, to make it 3-1. Kemp also drives in Puig to make it 4-1.
Top 5: Kershaw has given up only 1 hit so far. Grichuk's HR is the only hit for the Cardinals.
Bot 5: AJ Ellis gets his third hit with a two-run bomb. Dodgers up 6-1. Wainwright replaced by Freeman.
Top 6: Carpenter gets the Cardinal's second hit/run on the board with a solo shot to right field. Gonzalez makes spectacular catch in foul territory to end the inning.
Bot. 6: Kemp gets his third hit of the game. No runs for Dodgers
Top 7: With no outs and the bases loaded, Jon Jay and Matt Adam each hit an RBI single to make it 6-4. Then, Carpenter cleared the bases with a double to put up the Cardinals 7-6. Holliday tops off the 7th inning with a 3-run HR to make it an 8-run 7th inning. Cardinals up 10-6.
Bot 7: Three Up, Three Down
Top 8: Baez/Elbert go 1-2-3 on Cardinals
Bot 8: Gonzalez hits 2-run HR to make it 10-8 Cards.
Top 9: Cardinals leave 1 stranded in 9th
