CULVER CITY (CBSLA.com) — Wondering what the Los Angeles Lakers’ lineup will look like with guard Jeremy Lin?

The former Rockets player known to New York Knicks fans as “Linsanity” will be handing out preseason Lakers tickets Thursday during an appearance at a Foot Locker store in the Westfield Mall in Culver City.

In a message posted to Twitter, Lin – a native Angeleno – said he would be giving away tickets to the first 50 people to show up to the event, which runs from 4:30-6 p.m.

Lin, a four-year NBA veteran with the Warriors, Knicks and Rockets, was acquired by the Lakers in July along with a future first round draft pick and a second round draft pick in 2015 in exchange for the rights to Sergei Lishchuk.

He holds career averages of 11.9 points, 4.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 217 career games, including 140 starts. Last season, in 71 games with the Rockets, the 25-year-old averaged 12.5 points, 4.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds while shooting career-bests from the field (.446) and on three-point field goals (.358).

The Lakers open their preseason schedule Oct. 6 against the Denver Nuggets at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.
