2 Minors Accused Of Posting Child Porn On Twitter

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two unidentified minors have been detained in connection with the distribution of child pornography on Twitter.

The boys were identified by detectives as allegedly being responsible for the creation of two Twitter accounts, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement.

The accounts, "SCV_PURGE" and "SCV_PURGE1," thereafter were utilized to post child pornographic images, authorities said.

"During interviews with detectives, both subjects admitted to creating the Twitter accounts and posting the images of child pornography," the statement added.

Authorities said the investigation into the Twitter accounts was launched in July.

Authorities also said the minors were booked into the Santa Clarita station. However, criminal charges have not yet been filed.

Anyone with more information about this case was asked to contact the Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273.
