Kidnapped Woman Rescued From Trunk Of SUV

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Tuesday were investigating the alleged kidnapping of a woman who was rescued from the trunk of a SUV.

The female victim called 911 around 11:10 p.m. Monday from the vehicle, which was parked on the side of the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway, near the N. Dudly Street off-ramp, in Pomona, the California Highway Patrol said.

The woman stated that she had been kidnapped by two men, bound and gagged before being put in the back of the SUV, which had Colorado license plates.

The CHP said they were able to locate the woman by GPS on her cell phone.

She was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is now investigating the case, said they initially received a missing persons report out of East LA, but it was CHP who later found the victim.

No suspect description was released.
