Man Says He Was Stabbed With A Screwdriver While Washing Car

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — A 26-year-old man from Oxnard was recovering Saturday after being stabbed with a screwdriver, and one person was in custody, authorities said.

Miguel Angel Aguilar, 23, of Oxnard was arrested at a Camarillo motel in connection with the attack, Oxnard police said in a department statement.

Police said Aguilar is the registered owner of a red Cadillac that was allegedly left behind after the incident.

The unidentified victim told authorities that he was washing his car about 4:44 p.m. Friday in the 2700 block of South Ventura Road when he was approached by the suspect.

The victim managed to drive himself to St. John's Hospital for treatment following the attack.

Police said Aguilar was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
