Woman Struck, Killed By Metrolink Train In NoHo

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday said an unidentified woman has died after being struck by a train in North Hollywood.

The fatal crash happened near Tujunga Avenue south of Sherman Way Boulevard about 7:45 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said in a written statement.

The woman was declared dead at the scene by first responders.

Police said preliminary information has revealed that the woman ran onto the tracks as the train headed northwest.

"It is unknown at this moment the reason behind the victim's actions," the statement added.
