WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — A Huntington Beach woman will be arraigned on several charges Tuesday after she reportedly knocked her live-in boyfriend off his scooter, then backed over it with her vehicle.

Laura Cox, 47, has been charged with one misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of drugs with a prior conviction, use and under the influence of a controlled substance, domestic violence battery, and vandalism under $400, with a sentencing enhancement for a 2013 prior conviction for driving under the influence of drugs.
“She is accused of screaming at John Doe to move his motorized scooter, on which he was sitting blocking her exit,” the Orange County District Attorney’s Offices said. “Cox is accused of pushing the victim, knocking him and the scooter over onto the ground.”

Cox was stopped by a nearby Huntington Beach police officer.
If convicted, she faces a maximum of four years in county jail.
