Masked Man Robs Venice Jewelry Store

VENICE (CBSLA.com) — A masked man held up a jewelry store in Venice Tuesday, the same shop where actress Lindsey Lohan shoplifted a necklace.

The robbery happened at 12:46 p.m. at Kamofie & Co. in the 1300 block of Abbott Kinney Boulevard. The robber simulated a handgun and put his loot into a Starbucks bag before fleeing on foot.

Los Angeles police Officer Madison Drake said the thief was last seen heading south from the store.

He said he was surprised that someone would hold up the shop "on a nice day like today (when Abbott Kinney) is full of people. It's very trendy."
