Cee Lo Pleads No Contest To Slipping Woman Ecstasy

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Singer Cee Lo Green Friday morning pleaded no contest to slipping a woman ecstasy during a dinner date a downtown restaurant.

The 39-year-old singer — whose legal name is Thomas Calloway – orginally pleaded not guilty in October to one felony count of furnishing a controlled substance, MDMA/ecstasy.

Green, who maintained his innocence despite the no contest plea, was sentenced to three years probation, 360 hours of community service, drug or alcohol abuse classes and was required to register as a controlled-substance offender.

He is due back in court March 2 for a progress report hearing.

"We are very pleased to have resolved this matter with an amicable understanding and we're satisfied," Green said following his court appearance.

Green allegedly gave the drug to a 33-year-old woman while the two were dining sometime between July 13 and July 14, 2012, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

"The two later went back to the woman's hotel. Prosecutors declined to file a charge of rape of an intoxicated person, citing insufficient evidence," spokeswoman Jane Robison said.

Green's attorney, Blair Berk, said any sexual contact between her client and the woman was consensual.
