Suspect's Sketch Released In OC Residential Robbery

MISSION VIEJO (CBSLA.com) — Investigators Friday asked for the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect who allegedly robbed an elderly woman in her home this morning.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the residential robbery occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 23300 block of Via Linda.

The suspect allegedly opened the front door of the home and told an 82-year-old female "don't move" while she was lying in bed watching television, deputies said.

Officials said that the suspect proceeded to ransack her bedroom and several other rooms throughout the home. He allegedly stole jewelery from the victim.

It was unclear, however, if the victim was injured during the robbery.

Deputies described the suspect as a white male with brown hair, between the ages of 25 to 30-years-old, weighing no more than 160 pounds and stands no taller than 5-foot-8.

The suspect does not have facial hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants during the crime, authorities said.

According to the sheriff's department, no weapon or vehicle was seen by witnesses.

The victim is attempting to determine the value and quantity of the jewelry that was stolen, a press release states.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (949) 425-1900.
