Pedestrian Struck By 2 Vehicles While Crossing Street In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities on Saturday said a pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by two vehicles in Hollywood.

The accidents occurred in the 6700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard around 1:30 a.m., Los Angeles police Lt. Michael Ling told KNX 1070.

"He was hit by the first vehicle traveling eastbound on Santa Monica. He got struck and got hit by the second car that's right behind the first one," the lieutenant said.

According to City News Service, the pedestrian was allegedly outside the crosswalk at the time.

Los Angeles police Sgt. Clifton Frazier told the wire service that the driver of the first vehicle was detained on suspicion of driving under the influence.
