LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 31-year-old church employee who stands accused of molesting two young girls has pleaded not guilty to two counts of lewd acts on a child.
In a written statement, the Los Angeles County D.A.’s office said Jonathan Michael Macy pleaded not guilty in the case on Friday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 27.READ MORE: Pasadena Natural Gas Line Ruptured, Evacuations Underway
The statement said Macy worked at Desert Christian School and Grace Chapel Church in Lancaster. He was also a teacher at St. Mary’s School in Palmdale.

The children involved were described as two girls, ages 11 and 12.
If convicted, Macy faces a maximum prison term of 30 years to life. His bail was set at $1.2 million.
