Lancaster Church Employee Accused Of Molesting 2 Girls

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 31-year-old church employee who stands accused of molesting two young girls has pleaded not guilty to two counts of lewd acts on a child.

In a written statement, the Los Angeles County D.A.'s office said Jonathan Michael Macy pleaded not guilty in the case on Friday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 27.

The statement said Macy worked at Desert Christian School and Grace Chapel Church in Lancaster. He was also a teacher at St. Mary's School in Palmdale.

Authorities allege that the incidents occurred at Grace Chapel's Sunday church services within the past year, according to the statement.

The children involved were described as two girls, ages 11 and 12.

If convicted, Macy faces a maximum prison term of 30 years to life. His bail was set at $1.2 million.
