Ex-Disneyland Worker Sentenced For Molesting Underage Relatives

WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — A former Disneyland repairman was sentenced Thursday to 55 years in prison for molesting four girls, three of whom were relatives, after accepting a plea deal earlier in the week.

Bryan William Anast, 46, must serve 85 percent of his sentence and register as a sex offender, according to Orange County Deputy District Attorney Bobby Taghavi.

The four victims prepared statements for the judge, telling them how Anast broke their trust.

"It was pretty emotional," Taghavi said. "(The victims') big concern was for (Anast) not to be able to do this to anyone else."

The girls were all between 7 and 11 years old when Anast began sexually assaulting them, the prosecutor said.

Authorities learned of the sex crimes when a victim came forward in May 2013.

When police arrested Anast, who used to repair rides at Disneyland, they found child pornography in his home, Taghavi said. Some of the material depicted his victims.

Investigators eventually learned there were three more victims, including a family friend's daughter.

Anast pleaded guilty to six counts of lewd acts by duress on a child younger than 14 and one count each of continuous sexual conduct, possession of child pornography and using a minor for sex acts, all felonies.

He pleaded Monday just before attorneys began selecting a jury.
