OC Piano Teacher Accused Of Committing Lewd Acts On A Child

LAKE FOREST (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities say an Orange County piano teacher has been arrested after he was accused of lewd acts on a child including taking lewd photographs of a minor female at his home and places of business.

Investigators with the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force (OCCETF) arrested John Mordecai Scott, 58, of Lake Forest, on Friday.

The accused worked as a piano teacher out of his home located in the 20700 block of El Toro Road, authorities said.

In addition to teaching at his residence, officials said he also taught at Coast Band Music in Mission Viejo and OC Music in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Scott was arrested for lewd and lascivious conduct with a child and booked into Orange County Jail. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

KCAL9's Brittney Hopper said three additional alleged victims came forward after Scott's arrest Friday.

"Evidence that was recovered from his home on Friday, prior to him being booked into custody, based on that information and the evidence that was recovered from his home, that has led investigators to believe, in fact,  that there may be additional victims, " said Lt. Jeff Hallock with the OC Sheriff's Department.

The accused is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.

The investigation related to Scott is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (714) 647-7418 or (714) 647-7000.
