Report: Dodgers' Beckett Likely Out For Season

MILWAUKEE (CBSLA.com) — Before the Dodgers took on the Milwaukee Brewers, Don Mattingly officially announced that Josh Beckett was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left-hip impingement.

In addition to the hip injury, an MRI also revealed a left-groin strain. The move is retroactive to Aug. 4, which is why Roberto Hernandez, acquired from the Phillies on Monday, will be on the hill Friday against the Brewers.

Dodgers beat writer Bill Shaikin said Beckett, who is 6-6 with a 2.88 ERA in 20 starts for the Dodgers this season,  is likely out for the season.
