Daniel Radcliffe Greets LA Fans At 'What If' Movie Premiere

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Well known for his role as Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe surprised fans at several theaters in Los Angeles for the premier of his new movie "What If."

KCAL9's Suzanne Marques spoke with Radcliffe Friday night at the Arclight Theater, where he shared details of his new modern day role.

To celebrate the premiere, Radcliffe stopped at the Landmark Theater inside the Westside Pavillion, then the AMC Theater in Century City and finally the Arclight Theater in Hollywood.

Diehard fans learned of Radcliffe's surprise visit through an email that he sent out to kick off the opening night of the new film.

"I think its awesome, I'm happy for him," said Elyse Webb Wilson. "I'm glad to see him breaking out of the Harry Potter mold."

Marques described the film as a fun date night movie, where Radcliffe's character falls in love with his best friend and later finds out she has a boyfriend.

"I hope that this films leaves everybody with an incredibly happy feeling and smiles on their faces," Radcliffe said.

"What If" is now playing in theaters.
