Forbes Names Riverside As 8th Coolest City In America

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — The city of Riverside has claimed the No. 8 spot in Forbes magazine's 2014 list of America's Coolest Cities.

Riverside beat out other metropolitan hot spots such as Los Angeles, Boston and New York City. Washington, D.C. topped Forbes' list this year.

Cities were measured on "cool" factors such as entertainment options, art and cultural options, the "foodie" factor, diversity and data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Other California cities to make the list: San Francisco (5), San Diego (6), Oakland (12), Sacramento (14), Los Angeles and San Jose (tied at 16) and Santa Ana (20).
