Dozens Of Flights From LAX To Hawaii Canceled For Friday

EL SEGUNDO (CBSLA.com) — A number of flights scheduled to depart from Los Angeles International Airport on Friday en route to Hawaii were canceled because of back-to-back hurricanes hitting the islands.

Major airlines, including United, Delta, American and Hawaiian are all reportedly affected by the cancellations.

Hawaiian Airlines was able to move one flight to Maui up by five hours Thursday afternoon in order to beat the storm.

While the majority of flights from LAX to the islands took off without any interruption Thursday, many passengers said they had anxieties about flying into a major storm.

"Well, I'm a bit nervous," traveler Ann Sneddon said. "I'll be glad when the plane actually arrives, and we're safe and sound."
